Think of a time you needed to "sell" an idea. This could be something big or something small. Answer the following questions:

  • What were you selling?
  • Who were you selling it to?
  • Why were you selling it?
  • Describe your sale's pitch.

Step 2:  Analyze the Attempt

Answer the following questions: 

  • How successful were you in getting buy-in?
  • If it went well, then why do you think that was? What did you do to make it successful?
  • If it did not go well, then why do you think that was? What did you do to make it unsuccessful?
  • How will you approach these kinds of opportunities differently in the future? What skills will you use and why?
