Assignment

Your paper should be typed, double-spaced, using 12 point font in either Calibri or Times New Roman. It should be no shorter than 1 full page. It should be structured as follows:

Introduction Paragraph

Provide the title of the work of art being discussed (remember to italicize the title of a work of art), the artist's name (or state anonymous if there is no name provided), the date or century the piece was made, the medium used, and the location of the piece (in other words, where you are viewing the work of art). In addition, please provide a brief description of the piece or composition.

Body Paragraphs

Create a visual image with words. Utilize the Visual Elements in Chapter 4 and Principles of Design in Chapter 5 when analyzing this first paragraph. Also, discuss the content of the art work. Plainly stated, explain what you believe the artist is trying to say in this art work. Then, tell me how the Visual Elements and Principles of Design support that interpretation you came up with.
Conclusion Paragraph

Discuss your reaction to the art work, whether you thought it was successful in terms of composition and content. Do not introduce any new thoughts or ideas in this paragraph, as you are just summarizing points you've already made.

Photo

Be sure to include a photo of the work of art you are discussing. You need to be in the photo as proof of your attendance that you viewed the work of art in person. You can include a second photo if you want me to have a better image of the work of art itself. The photos cannot be taken from the website of the art gallery or museum you visited. Nor should it be taken from the internet.
