The discussion assignment for this week includes a review of the Final Project Outline completed by one of your classmates, as well as a substantial response to at least one other student.

Primary Task Response: Your first task is to post your own Final Project Outline to the discussion area so that other students are able to review your plan. Attach your document to the main discussion post, and include any notes you feel are appropriate. The purpose of this assignment is to help improve the quality of the Final Project Draft you will complete next week.

Part 1

For your Final Project, you will choose a topic in health care (e.g. cardiovascular issues, obesity, or cancer) and analyze it. Then, integrate all of the steps and standards that are needed to meet the quality improvement and performance regulations that are accredited by such organizations as The Joint Commission (TJC) and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). .

Now, you will present your work to key stakeholders in your organization. Create a PowerPoint presentation of 10-12 slides with speaker notes of 75-150 words which includes the following:

• Explain why your health care topic is an important area of concern and research, and explain the challenges that will impact its population in the coming years based on your research.
• Support your findings with an application of descriptive statistics.
• Explain your grounded research capabilities.
• Discuss risk-management assessment.
• Present the data outcome in an Excel spreadsheet.
• Include at least 4 credible references. All sources should be in APA format.

Part 2

Your department has taken the lead in developing many styles of reports. This work has raised a few questions throughout the organization. Therefore, you have been asked to present some helpful information on the structure of reporting. Draft a memo that explains the guidelines to follow when creating a memo for reporting purposes.

• Explain the advantages and disadvantages of using spreadsheets to display information in reporting.
• Explain which of the following are the best graphs to use in this situation, and why:

o Tables
o Pie charts
o Line graphs
o Bar graphs

• Incorporate at least 1 chart or graph that demonstrates when it is appropriate to use one chart or graph over another.

Your fast-food franchise cleared for business in all four countries (United Arab Emirates, Israel, Mexico, and China). You now have to start construction on your restaurants. The financing is coming from the United Arab Emirates, the materials are coming from Mexico and China, the engineering and technology are coming from Israel, and the labor will be hired locally within these countries by your management team from the United States. You invite all of the players to the headquarters in the United States for a big meeting to explain the project and get to know one another. In preparation for the meeting, you want to avoid cultural silos, while ensuring all parties engage with each other. Answer the following questions in preparation: (800-1000 words)

• What do you know about these cultures, specifically their political, economic, legal, educational, family, and social systems, that could help you in getting the project team together?

• What are some of the contrasting cultural values about uncertainty avoidance, ethnocentrism, communication apprehension, and culture shock that could potentially influence a cultural silo mindset and prevent team engagement?

International Managers are more focused on global virtual teams to manage projects and gain a strategic advantage. The global team for the fast food expansion project is dispersed in geographically different regions, and after the first project meeting in the United States, you plan to use a combination of social media technology to accomplish the team goals. The complexity of global virtual teams goes beyond the traditional principles used for national teams. As you begin to plan, you are concerned about some of the challenges that will exist during the virtual meetings, particularly the fact that the United States is an individualist low-context country, and some of the countries present are collectivist high-context countries. What strategies would you use to begin to have everyone develop a relationship with each other that will help ease engagement and collaboration during the virtual meeting and future negotiations, development, and implementation? Address the following questions in your response:

• What are some of the issues you should be concerned about regarding verbal and nonverbal language for this group to avoid misinterpretations and barriers to communication?

• How do people of different cultures seek connections and establish relationships using social media?

• Does technology allow you to develop trust for team building?
