Integrative Business Strategy

This is a 2-part written assignment.

Part 1. Select a publicly traded company from New York Stock Exchange. Describe what this company does to demonstrate their "corporate social responsibility". Explain why their actions are socially responsible. Based on your overall educational experience, explain what social responsibility means to you.

The 2-page paper should be written in the third person, typed, and single spaced.

Part 2. This part of the assignment is separate but also represents exercise in social responsibility.

Each class member will be provided with the name of an individual who is incarcerated in a Northeast Ohio penal institution. You must write a typed letter to this individual. The letter should be at least 2-pages.

A separate sheet describing "Tips for Writing to Prisoners" will be distributed and discussed with this assignment.

The professor will provide postage paid envelopes for mailing. Do not provide your address. The return address will be to the Department of Management at CSU. So, everyone will use the same return address. Do not use staples on your
letter.

If any of the incarcerated individuals sends a return letter, it will come to CSU and given to me. I will pass back any return letters in class as they are received. There is no obligation to follow-up or continue writing if there is a return letter. If you choose to continue correspondence, it is at your discretion.

This assignment is not legal, political, or judgmental in nature. It should be considered humanitarian and from a societal perspective.
