Introduction

Conflict is unavoidable. Conflict occurs at work, at home, between neighbors, friends and even between countries. Understanding how to handle (negotiate) conflict will help in developing resolution.

Initial Post Instructions

For the initial post, address one of the following:

• How do you handle conflict when it arises?

• Review the online article Seven Guidelines for Handling Conflicts Constructively. Think of a conflict you are involved in or have been involved in recently. How could you have applied these guidelines to that situation?

• Is there room for improvement in your conflict management skills?

• In a paragraph or two post your reflections on one of the guidelines and how you plan to use it in future conflicts.

Use citations from the textbook and one scholarly source to define the concept and to support your analysis and your choice of application.

List the sources for citations at the bottom of the response.

Writing Requirements

• In addition to one initial post, respond to at least two peers.
• Initial Post Length: minimum of 250 words
• Use APA format for in-text citations and list of references.
