Life is often a fight. We have to constantly fight for our goals and our futures; after the fight, we are often required to wait on God, who orders our steps as we fulfill our calling and purpose in life. This module/week, Parker's text devotes 2 chapters to these 2 themes: learning to fight, and learning to wait.
Reflect on the times the Lord required you to fight, and when He required you to simply wait on Him. Ironically, sometimes we are asked to wait to fight! God expects us to be Spirit-led in all we say and do, and He will equip us to do His will when we are obedient to Him. He leads us into the fight as we pursue our goals and plans, and guides our every step.
The Bible proclaims that the steps of a righteous man (or woman) are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23). The Lord also states, in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you... plans to prosper you and not to harm you... to give you a hope and a future." Reflect on how you will fight or wait as you pursue God's purpose in your life and in the educational arena.

As you are stating your professional goal, it is important to reflect on how your professional goals are a reflection of what the Lord is calling you to do based on your gifts, calling, and purpose.
