Movie: The Day After Tomorrow

A response paper is an opportunity for you to illustrate your viewpoint, personal learning. and ideas as it relates to the films and their theme. This paper is not intended to be a (dm review (i.e. "I enjoyed the.....) or summary (i.e. this happened and then this happened") of the plot. Do not write a synopsis of the film. Do not worry about the actors overall performances, but you can explain how their performances are relevant in the film's success (or not). Specifically, I am interested in your interpretation or understanding of the hazard/disaster themes and also your response to the film with respect to current scientific understanding. Also, consider how the film can influence
and perception of the hazard, response, and recovery of the event. public understanding

Criteria for your paper should include:

Length of Paper: 1- 1.5 pages.

• What is the central message or theme of the film?

• Using the characters, scenes, and situations, this how the film addresses any aspect of the hazard/disaster shown in the film.

• Do the films depart from scientific understanding or is it accurate? Provide examples.

• Use Mitchell et al. (2000) article as a framework (5 myths/misconceptions) here to support your argument.
