Mentoring - a process whereby an experienced organizational member (a mentor) provides advice and guidance to a less-experienced member (a protégé).

For this assignment, I want you to write about your experiences with a mentor. Though the textbook mentions it from an organizational point, your assignment doesn't have to be as formal.It can be a parent, friend, neighbor, etc. In essence, anyone that has impacted your life.

1. Up to this point in your life, who has been your most influential mentor?

2. What has he/she done to impact your life?

3. Is there anything that he/she said or did that has influenced how you do things?

4. Will this individual be beneficial as you move towards your future career?

a. If yes, how so?
b. If no, provide detail on the type of mentor you would be seeking to help you in the next stage of your career.

5. If you were to become a mentor to an incoming Valpo freshman, what advice would you give?
