The question on wind power and its impact in the current world has been on the limelight for years. In the current society, there has been so much negative impact of the current energy resources, which many people consider to be causing more harm than good. In such regard, there has been questions on coming up with energy resources that do not create a negative impact on humans. Wind power has been considered as one of the major reliable sources of energy that could be used in replacing the current sources of energy. This paper discusses the relevance of wind power as a source of energy and if it could be the energy to the current energy problems.

I. Background information on wind power

a) Wind power started being used in China in making grain and transporting water in 1300
b) Much interest was not created to the use of wind power until 1970s

II. Advantages of wind power

a) Wind power can generate 20% of the electricity needed by the country without having any hazardous emissions to the environment.
b) Wind power reduces the consumption of water
c) Power plants will increase the employment opportunities, which have a positive impact to the economy.

III. Downside of wind power

a) Positioning of the large turbines that generate wind power affect wildlife
b) The problem with the storage of excess wind when the wind is not blowing

In summary, wind power has been considered as one of the best solution to the current energy crisis. With the increase in global warming and ecological imbalance, wind power is one of the best alternatives that could be used other than oil. Given the increased depletion of oil wells, the future of oil is still blurred and with the continued developments in mass production of wind energy, it is expected that wind power is the answer to the current environmental questions.
