For this assignment, you will draft an editorial for a local newspaper with city-wide circulation that focuses on the low civic engagement and volunteering of women in your city. In the editorial, respond to each of the following questions with specific information and examples from research that you conducted.

• What factors influence women in civic engagement?

• Why do people, particularly women, volunteer and what may motivate more women to engage in this form of civic engagement at the local level?

• What are the functions of social entrepreneurs, and what might some of the barriers or challenges to social entrepreneurship might women face in your city?

Support your editorial with a minimum of four scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
