Every business has to procure the goods and services it needs to operate, but not every procurement transaction is efficient and successful. Perhaps some aspect of the buyer's need was not communicated to the seller, or perhaps the seller did not honor its commitments in accepting the order.

In a three-page paper, briefly summarize the components of a successful partnership. Then, describe the details of the three procurement failures, discuss why each procurement attempt failed, and evaluate what should have been done to make each procurement attempt successful. Also, identify whether the procurement failures resulted between traditional supply chain practices or integrated supply chain approaches.

The steps to achieving a successful procurement are set out in Figure 2-2 "The Successful Partnership Pyramid" on page 14 of your course textbook. Be sure to identify the level(s) that were not accomplished and that contributed to the failed procurement attempt.
