1. Explain the differences between social insurance (i.e. not income or 'Means tested').
2. Select a public assistance program) and explain how social welfare policy has contributed to the development of/changes in this program over time. Who is it meant to assist? Why?
Students should include information about the following using these words as paragraph headings
Who is eligible?
The benefit information (how is the benefit calculated?
How the program is financed?
How the program is administered (ie, federal state, local), and any unique or special information a service provider or potential recipient might need to know about the program.
