Assignment: PowerPoint Presentation

Note: The accepted Microsoft Office versions for this assignment are Microsoft Office 2013 (for PC) and Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 (for Macintosh). Students may use a more recent version if available.

Select a person that you admire the most. The person can be a family member, friend, musician, etc.

Create a four slide PowerPoint presentation in which you:

1. Slide 1: Insert a title slide including your name, course, quarter, and professor's name.

2. Slide 2: Insert a picture of the person or of something that relates to the person, and include the name of the person you admire. Note: You may use / search the Internet to include a digital image.

3. Slide 3: Insert at least four bullets that explain the key reasons why you admire this person.

4. Slide 4: Insert closing comments in bulleted, statement, or short paragraph form.

5. All Slides: Insert text into the Notes section of each slide indicating what you would consider saying when presenting your content. Note: Students should check with their instructors to see if they will need to present to the class.

6. All Slides: Organize the presentation so that the information is clear and visually appealing.

2. Discussion: "Usefulness of Office Suites"

Please respond to the following:

• Assume that you did not have access to Microsoft Office or other compatible application suites. Describe at least three (3) tasks that you would not be able to perform without Microsoft Office 2013.

• Among the applications that we explored in this course, choose the one that you believe to be the most useful to you and explain why you believe that to be the case. Next, determine the application that you believe would be the least useful to you and explain why.

3. Discussion

"The Value of Critical Thinking" Please respond to the following:

• Give your opinion on whether being an effective critical thinker makes decision making easier or more challenging. Justify your response.

• Consider the following statement: "The major difference between a successful person and one that is not successful is that the successful person, over time, tends to make better decisions than the less successful person." Discuss whether or not you believe this statement to be true. Explain the fundamental ways in which effectively applying critical thinking concepts has helped you to become more successful.
