Assignment: Need for Change
Purpose and Overview
The purpose of this assignment is for the student to:
identify a current need for change in healthcare;
identify steps to making the change, including identifying stakeholders and evidence; and discuss a minimum of one intervention to address the need for change.
Directions
Write a 2-3 page paper using the following guidelines.
In one paragraph, explain the need for change in your current practice setting, a previous practice setting, or in an education practice setting.
Discuss the need for change as it relates to the IOM Future of Nursing report.
Review the literature for evidence on best practice for the change.
Describe one intervention that addresses the need for change.
List 5-6 steps on how to proceed with the change.
Include stakeholders and a timeline for implementation.
In your conclusion, using 1-2 paragraphs, summarize how the Future of Nursing report improved your nursing practice and promoted patient safety.
