Women diagnosed with Substance Use Disorder
In this assignment you will select a diagnostic category and a specific population that constitute a consumer or client system (e.g., older adults diagnosed with depression, women diagnosed with bipolar disorder, families in divorce) and then formulate an intervention plan based on your assessment of the needs of the consumer system, and drawn from EBPs. Include the following in your intervention plan:
• Who would you include in the intervention process?
o Consider micro, mezzo and macro level intervention targets
o In terms of inclusion, identify which systems, agencies and institutions will contribute to the success of the intervention
• You can choose to base your intervention plan on any of the following practice models as appropriate (ground your thinking in EBP):
o Psychodynamic / Existential
o Emotion-Focused
o CBT, DBT
o Narrative or Solution-Focused
o Crisis Intervention
o MI
o Other intervention (requires prior permission from instructor)
• Clearly describe the proposed intervention procedures.

• Critical Thinking. How will you evaluate your intervention? (Review the empirical literature for reliable and valid measures for the presenting issue. An alternative is to identify treatment outcomes that are quantifiable or improve the quality of life of your client that are qualitatively measured.)
