Assignment Instructions:

Produce a brief analysis and evaluation on the role of budgeting and leadership in public administration, and the government agency you are examining throughout this course - my agency is Administration on Aging.

Assignment requirements:

Prepare a 4-5 page analysis and evaluation containing the following elements:

• An explanation and evaluation of the main theoretical approaches to budgeting that have been utilized by public administrators in the United States.
• Identification and summary of your agency's budget creation process.
• An evaluation of your agency's budgetary priorities, including how they are established and justified.
• An overview of the roles leaders and other stakeholders play in crafting the agency's budget.
• An evaluation of the impact of the financial crisis that has gripped the nation in the past few years on your chosen agency, and how your agency has addressed budgetary concerns.
• Length should be 4-5 pages, excluding cover page and references; typed double spaced in 10-12 point font (Arial, Courier, and Times New Roman are acceptable).
• Use proper APA style throughout and citations and references for the paper.
• Assignment should follow the conventions of Standard American English (correct grammar, punctuation, etc.).
• Writing should be well ordered, logical and unified, as well as original and insightful.
• Your work should display superior content, organization, style, and mechanics.
• Appropriate citation style should be followed.

The purpose of the Budgeting Assignment is to allow you to answer the question "what is budgeting" in the field of public administration through analysis of the agency or organization that you are focusing upon throughout this course - my agency is Administration on Aging.
