Implementation of an Information System Reflect on the EHR that you selected in Unit 3 during the initiation phase and complete the implementation plan for the new system. Write a paper that addresses the following:
• Analysis phase: Now that a new EHR system has been selected, how will the Information Systems staff collaborate with the users from the various departments to determine user needs for the design phase of the implementation? How will the data collected drive decision making? (4.1). How will the data collected influence a change in process and performance? (4.2).
• Design phase: Explain how the design phase can simplify, streamline, and improve the end user experience and ultimately the quality of health care (2.1). Explain how the design phase will impact how data is captured, tracked, analyzed, and shared across the organization (2.2).
• Implementation phase : Discuss best practices when getting ready to go live or implement a new EHR. Discuss user training, site preparation, system testing, and system start-up at a minimum (1.4). In your discussion, identify three specific meaningful use objectives and how they will be implemented at the hospital (1.1).
• Operations and maturity phases: In the operations and maturity phases of your implementation plan, discuss best practices for how you will assess if the system is functioning at an optimal level including response times and down-time procedures (3.1).
