Assignment: Field Trip Report Outline

1. Introduction

a. General location
b. Who were you with
c. The purpose of the trip

2. Stop descriptions

a. What were the observations made at the stop

i. What was discussed? Were new ideas introduced? How do those relate to what you have learned so far (i.e. how does that help you further analyze the stops seen on our trip)?Be sure to keep those in mind when discussing your observations

ii. Remember to use your handouts as a reference, too

iii. Include photos and sketches you have

1. Identify in your text which image I am to look at with respect to what you are describing. Be sure that image is labeled and you include a brief description of what I am supposed to notice in the picture

b. What are your interpretations (based off of your observation)

3. Conclusions

a. What do your observations and interpretations mean?
b. How are the stops related?
c. What does this mean for natural disasters? Postulate some ideas on what implications your finding have for people living in this area - risk to life, financial consequences, etc.

4. You don't need to include this in your report, but I want you to think about how what you learned here relates to where you live.
