Assignment Description:

You work for a sport organization and the CEO has asked that you establish a workable governance structure for the company and to conduct a policy analysis. To be included are all things relevant to governance, including (but not limited to) a mission statement, organizational structure, responsibilities and duties, management objectives, etc. You should pick a team, sport or company that you are somewhat familiar with and may have some prior knowledge of.  

Assignment Components:

1. You are to select an organization from the sport industry; (I would prefer Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Cavaliers, or any professional sports organization)
2. Share a brief description of the organization and write a mission statement;
3. Develop an organizational structure (including descriptions of key officers and/or managers and detailed job descriptions), identify responsibilities and duties as well as management objectives;
4. Include a chart detailing the organizational structure of the company;
5. Identify the stakeholders
6. Give an overall policy analysis (see chapter 2 of the Thoma textbook). Include any of the following that may be applicable: political risk analysis, government restrictions, economic policies, stakeholder analysis. least
7. Discuss the social and ethical issues your organization may face.
8. Finally, identify what other companies you work with, as well as your competitors (if applicable).

Assignment Requirements:

The presentation should be in either PowerPoint or word document form. The suggested length for this assignment is 10-15 slides for PowerPoint presentations and 8-10 pages for word document presentations. Use clear examples such as charts and graphs to enhance your presentation.

Below are some of the specifications for your final project. 

1) Project submitted as a PowerPoint 

2) Suggested length of assignment for PowerPoint is 10-15 slides. 

3) Use at least two references outside of your textbook (you should use your textbook too as it will act as a wonderful resource for this project).

4) In addition to the required number of pages for the assignment, you must also include a reference page (bibliography) and a title page, both written in APA style. Please note that these pages do NOT count towards the page minimum.

5) Typewritten in double-spaced format with a readable style and font and submitted inside the electronic classroom (unless classroom access is not possible and other arrangements have been approved by the professor). 

6) Arial 11 or 12-point font or Times New Roman styles. 

7) Page margins Top, Bottom, Left Side and Right Side = 1 inch, with reasonable accommodation being made for special situations 

8)  Limit quotations to an average of no more than 3-5 lines, and use quotations sparingly!
