Task for all students:

• Students will work in small groups to analyze one of the case studies in the back section of the textbook. The list of groups is on Blackboard in Tools | Groups.

• Each group will work on the case study that is assigned to their group.

• Each group will report their findings as a memo and as an in-class presentation. Details are below.

1. In-class presentation: (150 pts)

• Present your findings to the class using PowerPoint, Prezi or a similar presentation format.

• Include an overview of the case, its key events, the various stakeholders, the conflict between various stakeholders, and your recommendations.

• The presentation should last 15 minutes, followed by a 5 minute question and answer (Q&A) session where your classmates will question your analysis of the case.

• Each presentation should have no more than 30 words per slide, and no more than 10 slides

• Each group member should contribute equally to the presentation.

2. Memo:

• Write a two-page memo (800-1,000 words) outlining the details of the case and analyzing the case. Provide recommendations for the stakeholders involved.

• Before you submit your memo for grading you will have the opportunity to get feedback from fellow students during an in-class peer review session. In that session you will provide a draft of your memo to other students in the class who are not part of your group and they will provide you with constructive written comments.

• The professor will also provide input on your draft memo but will not provide a grade on the draft version. The memo grade will only be on the final version that is submitted via Blackboard.

2. Value the company creates for stakeholders.

Your assessment and analysis of this situation (400 words)

1. Introduce theories and concepts we have discussed in class (or that we will discuss in future chapters) that relate to your case.

2. Discuss how these theories and concepts are applied in your case.

3. Assess the costs and benefits of the company's actions (before and after the event).

Recommendations and Conclusion (200 words)

1. Discuss how the company could have averted the issue/crisis.
2. Give recommendations for future behavior by the managers of the company.
