Pinkberry franchisees presently operate from 1 store to over 50 stores with many franchisees continuing to grow.

You are the HR director and part of the senior management team at PinkBerry:

Task 1: Section 1 of the report must explain the role of HRM and the HR manager:

a) Firstly distinguish the differences between personnel management and human resource management.

b) Then state the different functions of HRM in an organisation like Pinkberry and state there purposes.

c) Then evaluate the roles and responsibilities of line managers in HRM focusing on decentralized HRM

Task 2: Pinkberry have a large expansion plan as part of their growth strategy, part of which will be achieved through franchising. Section 2 of the report must include:

a) Firstly analyse the reasons why HR planning is important.

b) Then state the stages involved in HR planning.

c) Finally, compare how recruitment and selection is done in Pinkberry compared to a large organisation and evaluate how effective they are.

Task 3: Section 3 of the report is to present information on motivation and performance, with this you must:

a) Discuss the link between motivational theory and reward management.

b) Evaluate the process of job evaluation and other factors that can determine pay

c) Assess how effective different reward systems are

d) Finally what methods can be used to monitor employee performance?

Task 4:

The last section of this report, you are required to provide detail on employee exit processes within Pinkberry, this should include:

a) Reasons why employment may be terminated within an organisation like Pinkberry.

b) Describe the employment exit procedures for Pinkberry and a large organisation.

c) Finally, consider the impact of the legal and regulatory framework on HRM and employment termination arrangements.
