Assignment: Arts Festival or Sporting Exhibition - PowerPoint and Audio Visual Assignment.

You and your business partner have been hired to plan an annual city event in the city nearest you. One event is the annual arts festival that draws hundreds of vendors and attracts thousands of visitors. The other event is a sporting exhibition and is equally as popular. You will choose only one event to plan.

Checklist:

1. Identify all event elements that require promotion.

2. Target your promotion to those market segments that will support your event. Include eMarketing strategies as well.

3. Include 2-3 additional programs that will draw visitors. (Example: workshops, celebrity associated with the product, etc.)

Create a PowerPoint presentation of your marketing strategy. This presentation would 1) allow management to see what your overall plan is, 2) help you obtain support for your plan, and 3) allow you to receive feedback from the client.

Then you will create a promotional audio visual presentation version and share the URL with the class (when you have finished creating your presentation) in the Discussion area. Be sure to insert the URL into the last slide in your PowerPoint presentation or add a tour audio portion to the PowerPoint.

In the real world you would use this to promote the event to certain market segments for different reasons. So make sure to explain what market segment you are promoting or marketing to and why.

There are several companies that provide free audio visual software (look for free audio visual or free presentation software on the Internet) or you can just add audio to your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation (no need for a separate headset with microphone).
