Assignment: Animal Sanctuaries

Project Description:

In the following project, you will revise a report that you wrote on animal sanctuaries. Your English instructor assigned the project and has reviewed your first draft. You will review and act on his comments, review tracked changes, format the paper in MLA style, add a table of contents, citations, footnotes, and index.

Instructions

1 Download and open the file named exploring_grader_Animal.docx.

2 Ensure that the markup view is All Markup. Review the comments and suggested changes. Reject the suggested change to delete (TWAS) on page 3 under the subheading Current Programs.

3 Accept all other changes in the document and stop tracking. Do not delete comments.

4 As per the first comment, change all headings that use Heading 4 style to Heading 1 style and all Heading 5 style to Heading 2 style.

5 Click the first comment balloon and reply by typing I have made the style changes. (including the period).

6 Select the image on the left side of page 3. Click the References tab and then click Insert Caption. Edit the caption to read Figure 3: Wolf. Display it centered and below the photo. Repeat this process and formatting for the image on the right side of page 3, making its caption read Figure 4: Fox.

7 Delete the two comments on page 3.

8 Select the MLA writing style. Click before the period ending the second sentence in the What is a Sanctuary section. The sentence ends in the world today. Insert the following website citation:

9 Click before the period ending the second sentence in the Captive Wildlife Crisis section. The sentence ends in outside the zoo system. Insert the following website citation:

10 Modify the Born Free source to change the Month Accessed to May. Use Manage Sources to edit the source both in the master list and the current document.

11 Click before the period ending the last sentence in The Wild Animal Sanctuary section. The sentence ends in large carnivores. Insert the citation created in step 9 for The Wild Animal Sanctuary Website. Edit this occurrence of the citation to suppress the Author.

12 Insert a footnote on page 2. Click after the period ending the fourth sentence in the Captive Wildlife Crisis section. The sentence ends in private endeavors. Type the following footnote: Exotic pet trade is a $15 billion dollar business in the U.S. alone. (include the period).

13 Insert a blank page at the end of the report and insert a bibliography in MLA style with the title Works Cited. The bibliography should be double-spaced with no paragraph spacing before or after.

14 Format the bibliography with a font of Times New Roman and a font size of 12 pt. The title Works Cited should be centered. All text in the bibliography should be Black, Text 1 font color. Ensure that no text is bold.

15 Move to the top of Page 2 of the document, and insert a blank page. Insert a table of contents on the new blank page, with a style of Automatic Table 1.

16 Mark all occurrences of the following words and phrases as index entries: sanctuary (mark all lower-case instances), carnivores, The Wild Animal Sanctuary, and Education. On Page 4, select the heading The Wild Animal Sanctuary and use the Insert Index dialog box to mark a cross-reference with the text SeeTWAS.

17 Add the index on a blank page at the end of the document. Use the Classic format and all other default settings.

18 Save the document and exit Word. Submit the document as directed.
