Assignment #9

1) We want to examine the mediator for the following:( 35 points)

Dependent variable: Reason for missing the medication (TREAS)

 Independent variable: Social support/available support (TSSQAV)

 Mediator effect:focusing on other (TCOPEFO)

2) We want to examine the mediator for the following:(35 points)

 Dependent variable: Reason for missing the medication (TREAS)

 Independent variable: Social support/available support (TSSQAV)

 Mediator effect: b) focusing on the present (TCOPEFP)

3) Examine the moderator effects for the above models.  In order to examine moderator effect, you have to create the interaction effect as follows:

            Sscopefo = tssqav*tcopefo;

            Sscopefp = tssqav*tcopefp;

Then, you need to add this interaction effect into the regression model.

For example: model treas = tssqavtcopefoSscopefo;

Moderator effect: a) focusing on other (TCOPEFO)

 b) focusing on the present (TCOPEFP)

Moderator Effect   y = m x m*x
