Topic: Best practices in the assessment of ASD.

The article must be:

• Current (within the last 5 years)
• From a peer-reviewed journal
• On the assigned topic for each review (see list below)
• Related to students with autism

2. Each review must be:

• At least 1 page (double-spaced)
• At least 3 paragraphs, including:

i. Introductory paragraph that summarizes the article
ii. Analysis of the author(s)' key points
iii. Personal reflection that also includes a summary statement on the overall effectiveness of the article

• In current APA format, including

i. Margins
ii. Font style and size
iii. In-text citations

3. Each review must include a:

• Cover sheet
• Reference list that begins on a separate page with any citations in current APA format

4. Journal Article Reviews will be evaluated based on the corresponding grading rubric.

Training Presentation Instructions

Complete a PowerPoint presentation THAT must have a minimum length of 17 slides that includes the references.

Create a teacher training program/presentation with the goal of enabling teachers to better recognize when someone has ASD. Your presentation needs to include the following:

1. A well-constructed introduction that includes a strong thesis statement.
2. A complete definition of ASD and the criteria for eligibility for the disorder.
3. A complete discussion of ASD signs that are most commonly displayed in infants and toddlers with ASD.
4. A description of the most commonly displayed signs of ASD in elementary school.
5. A description of the most commonly displayed signs of ASD in middle/high-school (include subtle signs)
6. A description of common signs of an adult with ASD (include subtle signs).
7. A well-constructed conclusion that strongly presents a clear restatement of the main ideas
8. Include a minimum of three images or video clips of a person displaying the signs of ASD.
9. Include 4 scholarly references.
