Assignment 1: Analysis of an Organizational Vision
Research visions from organizations in industries other than your own. Find a vision statement that provides an engaging picture for the future of that organization and is detailed enough that external stakeholders can relate to it in a meaningful way. In a paper of 750-1,000 words, address the following:
1. Describe the company and its vison statement.
2. Discuss the attributes that make the vision meaningful.
3. Explain how the vision statement is appropriate for the organization and why the vision statement is appealing to stakeholders on both a cognitive and emotional level.
4. Evaluate whether or not the vision statement encourages organizational change. Provide rationale and examples to support your assessment.
5. Compare and contrast this vision to that of a successful vision in your field, industry, or organization. How do the attributes for a vision in your field or industry differ from those in other fields or industries?

Assignment 2: Implementing Change
In order for managers to respond effectively to environmental or organizational pressures that can be disruptive to an organization, they must implement clear intervention strategies. In a 1,000-1250 word paper, propose a change plan to respond to the most significant pressures affecting the organization represented in your Pressures for Change assignment from Topic 2. Include the following:
1. Review the organizational/environmental pressures you presented in your initial paper: Determine which pressure is most important to address at this time in order to maintain a competitive and viable company. Summarize the pressure and how the organization is currently being affected. Project the outcome for the organization if it fails to address the pressure.
2. Develop a change vision to respond to the organizational or environmental pressure: The vision must define the organizational change and resonate with the decision making and strategies proposed in the paper. Additionally, the vison must include a cognitive and affective component in order to help stakeholders understand how to achieve the goals, and to inspire and motivate them to engage in the change.
3. Develop a change model to implement your change vision. Identify the specific steps needed to implement a change and effectively respond to the pressure. Describe a strategy for implementing each step.
4. Evaluate the potential resistance from stakeholders. Discuss the reasons for the resistance, at what point the resistance will likely occur, and some strategies for overcoming the resistance.

Assignment 3: Presentation - Communicating and Sustaining Change
Prepare a 12-15 slide PowerPoint presentation that outlines your proposal to the stakeholders who would approve or deny your plan. Include the following:
1. Present the prevailing pressure that threatens organizational success.
2. Summarize your strategies for successfully implementing the change plan in order to address the internal or external pressure.
3. Propose strategies for effectively communicating to internal and external stakeholders. Identify what information needs to be disseminated and to which stakeholders. Discuss the communication skills and language necessary to be effective with both internal and external stakeholders. Describe the communication process and the strategies used to disseminate information throughout the implementation process.
4. Present a strategic plan for sustaining the change after the plan has been implemented.
5. Predict potential obstacles or unintended consequences and recommend strategies to overcome or respond to them.
