Every child requires positive discipline in their life. Discipline helps teach your child self-control. Many people believe that spanking is an essential part of discipline. Not spanking does not mean that you do not discipline your child.

For this assignment you are required to research the topic of using alternative methods of positive child discipline/guidance other than spanking and time-outs. You must describe at least 3 alternative methods from at least 2 sources. Your sources should be research-based articles that you have found from a credible web site.

The above information should then be discussed in a 2-3-page typed paper following the typing guidelines listed in your syllabus. Always remember to include not only the works cited page but to use parenthetical (In text) citations in any college research paper.

After completing the Discipline research assignment, use your findings to contribute to the Discussion activity below. Focus on your findings regarding alternative methods of discipline.
