Presentation 1: Topic: Worldcom

The first presentation should be 15 to 20 minutes about a famous financial scandal. Do not pick a political or other non-financial scandal. For the selected financial scandal, please explain what was the unethical behavior? Why was it successful? Could this scandal have been prevented? If so, how? Could regulation be put into place that would have prevented the scandal? If so, what regulation would you propose? Within your presentation, please define "ethics" and "morals".

Also in 2001, telecommunications giant WorldCom settled for bankruptcy, becoming the third largest bankruptcy case of all time. Like Enron, WorldCom was involved in copious amounts of marketing fraud.

In the years leading up to bankruptcy, the company had gone through a period of intense growth but as the new millennium approached the telecommunications industry was in decline. Instead of trying to weather the storm, WorldCom instead turned to cooking the books. All told, there would be $7   billion in "accounting errors".

Presentation 2: Topic: China

The second presentation should also be 15 to 20 minutes. Please select an international, non-U.S. financial system (e.g., U.K., China, India) - these are country or jurisdictional financial systems. What regulatory framework covers its financial institutions? Who are the regulators and what do they regulate? What are the differences between its regulatory framework and the regulatory framework of the U.S.? Please specifically set out whether the banks within this country or jurisdiction must adhere to any Basel rules and, if so, what version or set of Basel rules.

Note - Need to create 2 PowerPoint and 2 word files as per the given. The requirement is to answer all the parts and make sure the presentation is about 15-20 minutes each.
