Knowing what you WANT is the first step to then figuring out howth you a  transportation system can help you achieve those wants. Goal setting powerfully shapes transportation planning Practitioners must think critically about goals.

DEFINITION "A transportation system:" the comprehensive system that people use to including all modes that are used (e.g., in Utah that includes driving, transit, bicycling, walking. etc-)

To help, consider if you visited 10 international cities back to back, how would you decide which of them has the best transportation system? (based on how they affected you and how you think they affect all residents - the outcomes of the system). Don't describe the physical characteristics of the system it has a lot of rail transit' or "few cars" - tell me the system's benefits, e.g., "it saved people a lot of money....

To be clear, a transportation system includes all forms of transportation, both private (e.g automobile). and public. Every way that people choose to get from point A to point B.
