Paper may include how your place affects (examples...)

• what you do

• where you go (or where you don't go)

• how you get there (and perhaps the different ways you have chosen to get there)

• your social interactions (how often you visit family, friends, interactions with neighbors or strangers

The productivity of your day

It is sometimes hard to see how place shapes routine decisions and affects quality of life. Therefore, you may choose to discuss a time in which you lived (longer than 1 month) in a distinctly different city than where you live now. You may even reflect on your childhood.

These potential affects. above, are suggestions. not requirements for your paper. You are not limited to eact you in ways not listed above.

As you reflect on your life. next decide IDEALLY, how a transportation system' should affect us What e the consequences or impacts of transportation on individuals and society Similar to part Al that could choose to have occur?

Knowing what you WANT is the first step to then figuring out howth you a  transportation system can help you achieve those wants. Goal setting powerfully shapes transportation planning Practitioners must think critically about goals.

DEFINITION "A transportation system:" the comprehensive system that people use to including all modes that are used (e.g., in Utah that includes driving, transit, bicycling, walking. etc-)

To help, consider if you visited 10 international cities back to back, how would you decide which of them has the best transportation system? (based on how they affected you and how you think they affect all residents - the outcomes of the system). Don't describe the physical characteristics of the system it has a lot of rail transit' or "few cars" - tell me the system's benefits, e.g., "it saved people a lot of money....

To be clear, a transportation system includes all forms of transportation, both private (e.g automobile). and public. Every way that people choose to get from point A to point B.
