In this assignment, you get the chance to create your dream job and to build its compensation plan and appraisal performance.

Hello Everyone,

Did you hear in today's news, female employees are now trying to be bring a class action lawsuit against Google for discrimination in promotion and wages? Google was once recognized as one of the top employers in Fortune magazine.

What is your opinion and view of this situation, and how do you handle the PR related to this latest publicly because it is going to impact the imagine of being an ideal place to work?

I am a huge proponent for equal pay for equal work. But, I am not sure that is what these women are addressing. They state that they were hired in at lower levels than male counterparts with similar experience.

Nowhere in the article does it say they were paid less than those in the same position. It is a lot harder to prove you were looked over for an initial job simply because you were a women. My other cause for pause is that Google has been ranked the number one company to work for six years in a row. I happen to work for a company on the list. A huge factor in determining the list is employee morale.

The associates are asked to judge their company. If so many women are being treated unfairly, why would they rate their own company the best place to work? I would be interested to follow this suit and see what comes of itDiscussion Question #2 at least 60 words

This week has brought to the forefront another consideration as human resource managers. We have a duty to ensure our employees safety, and there are serious fines associated with failure to do in the event an employee is seriously injured or dies while working. OSHA is the investigating body and requires us to take certain actions. What are the requirements OSHA requires for your industry in ensuring employee safety?

The current hurricane made me think about as the human resource manager for the local and state government, how we ensure the safety of our first responders? They are not evacuating. The CDC provides some information on how to keep first responders safe while working.

As we examine the organization and all the concepts we have covered this class, determine what challenges and strategies would you implement that would have the greatest impact on your employer at this moment? For example, cybersecurity in the workplace or the new anticipate challenges to federal laws that will impact how human resources handles employee related issues, such as new ADA possibilities. Make one recommendation to your Human Resource Director to overcome the challenge you have identified.
