Refer to the article "Correlates of Recovery Among Older Adults After Major Abdominal Surgery" by M. L. Zalon (2005).  Answer the following questions pertaining to this article.

e) Which independent variable was most highly correlated with functional status at 3 - 5 days post-discharge? What was the correlation?

f) Which independent variable was most highly correlated with self-perception of recovery One-Month Post-Discharge?  What was the correlation?

g) Were the independent variables pain, depression, and fatigue significantly correlated with functional status at 3 - 5 days post-discharge?  Provide a rational for your answer.

h) Did the regression results indicate that pain, depression, and fatigue provided a greater prediction of functional status at 1 month after discharge or at 3 - 5 days post-discharge?  Provide a rationale for your answer.

i) What was the percentage of variance explained by the regression analysis for functional status at 3 months?

j) At which time period do we have the greatest percentage of variation explained by the regression of Self-perception of recovery on the pain, depression and fatigue.  Justify your answer.

k) In all of the regression models fit by the author, which independent variable appears to be the best predictor of functional status and/or self-perception of recovery?  Justify your answer.
