The first assignment is intended to consolidate and (somewhat) formalize your thinking by requiring you to articulate the process of developing a research topic. position and scope step-by-step

Format/Requirements: Prepare a typed document in running narrative form (not a series of bullets points) containing the following, in this order:

The topic is autism ( 2 and half pages using 1-1/2 line spacing )

1.topic and rationale. what are you planning to research about ? why?

2. problem. what is the problem you have identified within the topic upon which you will focus? why?

3. critical position. whats your particular context for examining the problem at hand?

4. hypothesis. what are you proposing ?

5.design project. what is the design studio project you plan to pursue in support of your research? why? ( talk a little bit about this point)

6. theoretical framework. what variables will you focus on (propose 3). what is the rationale for selecting these ? write a paragraph or so about each variables.
