Hello Class,

I'm Ronnie Taylor and I am from Southern California. I am currently 24 credits away from graduating with a BA in Educational Studies.

When it comes to differentiated instruction, I would say it's when the teacher understands that not all the students think and learn the same and teaches in many different styles so that students all have a way of learning to their understanding. I think that when it comes to dispositions that a teacher should always have a good personality and character and always be willing to understand students and the differences that they all have. I feel it's important for teachers to build relationships that are healthy in the classroom because it helps students trust teachers and keeps the teacher wanting to be creative and fresh with how they teach.

When it comes to this course I am hoping that I learn how to better relate and understand students and how they think alike and different and how this class will show me how to understand and teach students with different learning capabilities.

Something interesting about myself is that I love to sketch and do artwork and to relax I actually have adult coloring books of pattern and shapes and I color to unwind.

Hello everyone my name is Latifa. I live in a little town called Grand Blanc, Mi. I am a mother of two and I am looking forward to finishing up my bachelors with Ashford University in Educational Studies. In this course I'm looking forward to learning how teachers teach, a variety of student's quality information, in a short period, all while controlling behaviors and essentially every need in the classroom.

There are three things teachers look at when differentiating: student readiness, interest and learning profile. Results determine how the four elements of content, process, products and learning environment all work together. Differentiating is necessary and a wonderful skill that teachers should have to be an effective educator.

An Interesting fact about myself is that I work at a residential facility that helps children 24/7 to with coping and behavioral management skills as well as daily living activities.

In your own words, what do you think it means to differentiate instruction? Differentiated instruction is where the teacher meets the needs of the individuals in their class. Differentiated learners are vast and each one unique. A teacher must pull from a variety of instructional tools and create a learning environment that matches the needs of each student in his or her own class.

What kind of disposition do you think is required of a teacher to be able to meet the needs of his or her students? I think one would need to be creative and fun and definitely a planner with great organization skills. Why? The creativity and fun would come in handy because it would help to give students an outlet for learning that is different than just hearing lectures all day, reading from book, etc. You would have to be a great planner in order to plan and meet the needs of all the students in your class. You cannot just fly by the seat of your pants when you are a teacher. You must plan lessons and activities and for your diverse learners you must have supplemental work for your students to meet their needs. Organization is key because there is no greater way to lose stuff, not have things planned out, and to not have a clear plan of what must happen in one's classroom without organization.

Examine the Course Learning Objectives. What do you hope to gain from this course? I hope to gain more insight on how to reach diverse learners. I want to learn the best ways to meet their needs and how to make the best learning environment for each student in my class.

What is one interesting fact about yourself? I live in beautiful Florida just a few short miles from Kennedy Space Center and the Atlantic Ocean.
