Q2. What is included in the word count?
Body text is included. TOC, Exec.summary, tables and figures and list of references are not included.

Q3. Should we use the contents as listed in the marketing criteria? e.g Steps in writing a marketing plan, SWOT and competitor analysis, mission etc? and with each heading, are we to describe the meaning and then list how it relates to our product?

so for example, we describe what a mission is and then write the actual mission, or do we assume that the reader knows what a mission is and we just state the mission for the product?

e.g. 'Steps in the marketing plan' is a mini lit. review and what is following in the report.

The rest of the report does apply to the product with a very brief definition of what each concept means e.g for SWOT analysis, describe what it is then describe how you will apply the SWOT analysis to the product.
