For this task, you are to identify 3 different opportunities for networking that will be of benefit to your current vocation and your professional development. You should consider investigating the benefits of the following potential networks.

- local inter-agency groups
- other organisations
- professional/occupational associations
- project specific ad hoc consultative/reference groups
- specific interest or support groups
- suppliers
- work team

Once you have identified potential networks, you are to conduct an analysis that identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of each one.

Don't forget to enter the names and details of each networking opportunity into your CSM database! You should present your findings to your assessor in the form of a written report.

Assessment 2 - Project

You are now required to establish contacts and participate in 2 different networking opportunities. You should detail the networks you are participating in, and provide evidence of such. You are also required to document the reasons you have joined each one - along with what you have put in and received from each.

Finally, you are to invite a colleague to participate in one of your networks. This invitation must be written, and "sell" the benefits of the network to encourage a new willing and eager member.

For this task, you are to detail how you maintain your business relationships, outlining how and when you:
- Developed and maintain relationships with others from a business perspective
- Gained and maintained trust and confidence from your networking contacts
- Used your negotiation skills to encourage positive outcomes
- Identified difficult situations and negotiated a suitable outcome
- Sought specialist advice in the development of contacts
- Obtained feedback to identify and develop ways to improve promotional activities within available opportunities
