Assessment 1 -Group Case Study

In the first tutorial, you will be asked to form a Study Group of 2-3 people for the purposes of leading a Case Study discussion in a Tutorial. The Cases you will find in your textbook Mazzarol, T., 2011,"Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Readings and Cases", 2nd Edition, Tilde University Press.

Each study group will be allocated a week (from week 3-10), in which you will set the scene for class discussion, informal brain storming, mind map or role play covering the concepts and questions for the designated case study. You are to provide a handout or worksheet to help the class apply the concepts. One week after presenting the Case to the rest of the class you will need to submit a group written report on this Case.

Assessment 2 - Individual Case Study

You are required to address the following in a Report (2,000 words).

The Report should be written in an academic style as specified by the School, which includes in text referencing, appropriate use of academic journals together with other reference material such as textbooks, internet sites, relevant business publications and newspapers.

Your report should include the following:

• Synopsis of the case
• Table of contents
• Introduction
• Body of the Report which deals with the key questions
• Conclusion
• References
• Relevant appendices

The topic of your report, and specific criteria is:

Identify an example of a entrepreneurial product or offering brought to the market in the Australian tourism industry in the last ten years.

• Explore the relevant history and the initial market opportunity
• Discuss the "Four P's" (product, price, promotion, people)
• Explore the organisation culture and structure, and the impact this had on the product/offering development
• Identify the market impact of the product, and financial results for the organisation
• Assess and forecast the longevity of the product/offering.

You must nominate your product/offering by week four at the latest, and have this approved.

Assessment 3 - Creative Journal

Assemble a Portfolio and Journal that keeps track of your personal development over the course of this subject focusing on the topics that have been covered, your reflection of learning, and accomplishments over the period. Your Journal should consider the following

1. Your understanding of each of the theoretical topics covered and how you can relate to these concepts.
2. Answers and reflections to questions and exercises at the end of each chapter in the text
3. Your thoughts and reflections of the readings as listed in your weekly outline

Note. There is no specific format for this Creative Journal; you are encouraged to use your personal creative approach that reflects your individual style.

As a guideline/minimum, please answer ensure that you specifically address the "Creative Journal" questions listed under the relevant chapters from week two to ten in your text book (note, only some chapters have this specific section). Please provide a sub header for each chapter.
