Identify two assessment instruments that assist in the diagnosis of disorders in your chosen category.
Prepare a 10-12 PPT presentation and supporting handout describing the purpose for and process of clinical assessment. Include the following:
• Describe the purpose of clinical assessment.
• Explain how you would prepare for and conduct the initial assessment meeting.
• Describe which assessment instruments you chose to assist in the diagnosis of the disorders in your chosen category.
• Explain how the results from these assessments can assist in the diagnosis of these disorders.
• Describe any cultural considerations when using these instruments.
Include a minimum of three references.

1. Imagine you are a crisis counselor at a community mental health agency, and you have been asked to train new interns on the proper procedures for assessing risk of aggression, danger to others, self-harm, and/or suicide. What are these procedures and how would you explain them?
2. What are some of the common assessment instruments used in school settings? What is the purpose and role of these instruments? What environmental factors are considered in school assessment? How do these factors affect student performance?
3. What are the major sources of bias relevant to multicultural assessment? What ethical principles are relevant to multicultural assessment?
4. What are the main differences between standardized and non-standardized tests? What are some examples of standardized instruments? What are some examples of non-standardized instruments? When would you use each instrument?
