Application-based Capstone Study: The application approach to our Capstone Project concludes with a persuasive recommendation to a specific organization.

In this type of project, the student addresses a complex, real-world, unstructured challenge or opportunity faced by an actual organization by using the tools and concepts developed during their DeVos MSOL studies.

He or she identifies a specific problem chooses a goal or goals to serve as the performance standard for alternatives addressing the problem, evaluates all viable alternatives, and outlines a recommended course of action complete with implementation plan, timeline, resource requirements, anticipated outcomes, and risks and contingent actions.

In many situations the recommendations may be presented orally to the host organization, but they must also be offered in a written document intended to persuade in order to warrant Capstone credit.

This paper should be 15-18 pages in length and follow a standard format for grammar and citation consistent with graduate-level university work.
