Annotated bibliography Task
STEP ONE: Select one of the following topics which will be your research focus for Assignments:
1. In Australia, Aboriginal people face many challenges to maintain their identity, traditions and customs. Is it essential to preserve Aboriginal culture? and why?
2. Ethical business behaviour requires honesty and integrity. Are employees responsible for reporting, any inappropriate behaviour, corrupt practices and breaches of law?
3. Climate Change is defined by the changes in the earth's weather, temperature, wind patterns and rainfall. Is Climate Change happening? and is it man-made?
4. The Fair Trade movement began in the late 1950's as a social movement to help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions. Is it working or making any difference for the workers, their families and communities?
5. According to Cancer Council Australia, tobacco smoking remains the leading preventable cause of illness and death in Australia.
Should the Australian federal government pass a nationwide smoking ban? STEP TWO: Find four (4) resources which are academic articles from peer-reviewed journals and relate to your chosen topic and research question.Make sure to find Articles with Abstracts. STEP THREE: You are required to produce annotated bibliographies for each resource.
Each annotated bibliography should be 450 words in length, (4 X 450 = 1800 WORDS). An annotated bibliography requires you to: Record publishing details in order to make referencing easier later Identify the main argument/point of the text Identify the important content of the resource for your research topic
Critique the credibility and usefulness of the resource List any quotes or paraphrases that will be useful for you topic STEP FOUR: In addition, write 200 words critically discussing the four sources.
For example, you can consider one or two key concepts and compare the different perspectives from across the sources. The total word limit for this assignment should be 2000 words, (1800 + 200 = 2000 words in total).
