ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY GUIDELINES

TOPIC IS: HOW TO DEVELOP BLACKBERRY PHONES TO MAKE THEM MORE COMPETITIVE

For this assignment, you are to conduct research on your topic and generate an annotated bibliography.

A reference list is a list of all materials someone has cited in a paper.

An annotated bibliography is a document that lists and discusses books, essays in books, journal and periodical articles, published interviews, government documents, annual reports, and other published materials. Each item in the document is cited using the appropriate APA reference format followed by an articulate summary of the item's content.

You are to locate 10 articles (minimum) addressing your selected topic. Please limit your search to materials published within the past three years unless a historical context is relevant.

You may include books, essays included in books, articles in scholarly journals, government periodicals, and published interviews (not people you want to interview) conducted with professionals in the field whose information may be of use to you as you write your plan/project.

You must cite the complete reference information for the source in APA format.

You must write a 100 to 150 word summary of each source in your own words. Do not use other reviews of the source or other annotated bibliographies to write your paper.

As you write your summary of each source, remember that you are not writing a descriptive abstract. That is, you are not to simply tell the reader what type of source you have found. Nor are you to simply copy or regurgitate what the authors or the indexers have provided in the abstract accompanying the article. Instead, you are to write an informed summary which also analyzes the value of the source and explains why this particular source is of value to your proposed project. Identify the major ideas or theories which the source explains or addresses. Identify the issues the source analyzes. Explain the position the author (or authors) take on the issue. Discuss the material in the source that will be useful to you as you prepare your business plan.
