This course project allows you to demonstrate your mastery of communication techniques as well as critical, ethical, and analytic thinking as you examine the social media presence of a company of your choosing. Your research-based 8-10-page analysis will include all the elements of a professional analysis that support a preliminary report suitable for presentation to company leadership.
Expectations
To successfully complete this project, you will be expected to:
- Inventory a company's current use of social media.
- Perform a SWOT analysis.
- Consider ethical questions related to social media practices at the company.
- Support your analysis with persuasive evidence, properly cited with APA in-text citations.
- Summarize your main points with suggested next steps the organization should consider.
- Write professionally and in a manner consistent with expectations for members of the business professions.
Project Objectives
To successfully complete this project, you will be expected to:
- Assess a company's current use of social media.
- Conduct appropriate research to create and support assertions.
- Analyze the implications of social media for the future of a business, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Effectively communicate business concepts and ideas.
- Assess business situations using an ethical framework.
Project Requirements
To achieve a successful project experience and outcome, you are expected to meet the following requirements.
Analysis Paper
Your analysis paper must contain the following sections:
- Executive Summary or Abstract.
- Introduction.
- Social Media Audit and Comparison.
- SWOT Analysis.
- Ethical Assessment.
- Conclusion (including next steps or highlighted takeaways).
Other Requirements
- APA formatting: In-text citations and references are formatted according to current APA style and formatting.
- Number of resources: Include a minimum of five resources.
- Length of paper: Write 8-10 typed, double-spaced pages (not including cover page, table of contents, abstract, or references).
- Font and font size: Use Times Roman, 12-point font.
