Analyze the data from two different perspectives and offer your findings. Using the drywall, investigate each perspective. Imagine you are providing an analysis for a large construction company. You should analyze the data set, highlight findings, and offer suggestions based on course learning.

Project Manager's Hypothesis

According to Themhain and Wilemon in their article "Criteria for Controlling Projects According to Plan" published in the Project Management Journal in 1998, "Project leaders most frequency blame poor project performance on

1) Customer and management changes,

2) technical complexities,

3) Unrealistic Project plans,

4) Staffing problems,

5) Inability to detect problems early". Examine the dataset to see if the data reflect the findings in their research.

Changes in scope can cause project slippage

More complex projects and technical difficulties cause slippage

Unrealistic project plans (i.e. bids) cause slippage

Staffing proems (labor shortages, wages, etc.) cause slippage

Sr. Manger's Hypothesis

Insufficient Front-End Planning (Engineer/Architecht poor?)

Unrealistic Project Plans (i.e. bids) cause slippage

Changes in scope cause project slippage

Insufficient Contingency Planning (e.g. acts of god, or other risks not well planned)
