An organization's strategic plan incorporates its process improvement plan by exploring the most important questions and concerns about the purpose of being in business in the first place. Some of the specific questions that should be considered when planning any strategic plan are:

- what is the company's vision/goals?
- what is their specialty and how are they different from their competitors 
- what kind of image is desired and what does it want to be known for? 
- what kind of customers does the company want to attract?
- Expansion possibilities?
