Although workers in the United States are among the most productive in the world, they are earning less money today, controlling for inflation, than they were in 1970. Although the average rate of pay has jumped from $3 an hour in 1970 to almost $19 an hour today, workers can only buy about as much today as they did in 1970 (Henslin, 2013). Do you think Japanese workers are more productive than American workers? What are your thoughts?
