After four years of working as a nurse at a local retirement community you've finally been promoted. You are now in charge of an entire wing of residents. What's even better (or more difficult) is that you'll be working with many people you already know and are good friends with. In fact of your five employees you will be supervising, your best friend is one of them. Management has told you they have great expectations for you in your promotion. Unfortunately management has also told you about consistent complaints from residents about your team. Residents have stated that your new employees have no care about customer service, are rude to the clients and are impossible to get ahold of quickly when needed. You realize that a major change in your team is necessary (so does management) but you are afraid of how to approach this change, especially with your best friend now subordinate to you. From your initial welcome to your game plan of changing the work climate for your team, describe what actions you will take, how you will mitigate those actions through legal, moral, and ethical concerns, what challenges you might face, and ultimately what outcome you would expect with your plan.
