According to recent statistics, Americans make up less than five percent of the world's population. This presentation explores cultural habits of Americans and how they differ from the cultures of six students from all over the world. The goal of the video is to help you be more aware and better understand your own communication habits, as well as learn about those of other countries. It helps as a supervisor to be able to communicate more effectively with the other 95% of the planet in the workplace. Following viewing the video, and take the Assessing Yourself, "Are you an Effective Listener?" survey, being VERY honest with yourself! Using the Total Score rating system at the bottom, create an essay of at least ten sentences sharing your results and relay an experience you have had in the workplace where communication issues impacted your ability to perform your duties well on the job. Discuss what you have learned and what you would now be able to do differently as a result of this week's assignments.
