According to McFadden and Gerl (1990) and O'Brien (2008) the aging population is faced with many challenges, such as "Creating a new self-image, adjusting to physical and mental changes of aging, adapting to a simpler lifestyle, and seeking quality of life" (as cited in Young and Koopsen, 2011, p. 313). These challenges are faced in different ways in every culture.

First, select a culture that has been discussed in this class. Next, identify how the aging population is viewed within that culture and discuss whether there are cultural influences on spiritual care and health or healing interventions for this population.
