1. Increase outreach to parents
According to Buien de Mujer, parents are responsible for ensuring that their children attend school regularly. However, taking into consideration the facts that most parent work extensive hours and take care of a large family, they are not able to supervise their children, even they wish. It would be in the advantage of both children and parent if the organization found ways to connect with the parents of not attending regularly children. It would fortify the connection between parents and children; it would encourage parents be more responsible and connect them to the educational program as well as it would fortify the community in general.
2. Incorporate hygiene education
Different illnesses and infections can be transferred through poor hygiene, especially dirty hands. Our group noticed that there was not soup in the restroom at the center and the children did not wash their hands before having breakfast (they might not wasted their hands after using the restroom as well). Proper hygiene habits are essential for children’s good health and Bien de Mujer should better incorporate them in their teaching.
