A Rutgers student, Dharun Ravi, was involved in a very public case regarding the suicide of a Rutgers student, Tyler Clamenti, back in 2010. To get background and prove my point, Google either name and see what you get.

Keeping the specifics of the case out of the discussion, the appeals court ruled that this was not a bias case (see attached article). My question is what should happen with all this internet history of this unfortunate story. The guilty verdict for a bias crime will always show up in a search. I'm not a lawyer, but I imaging that even if he changed his name, that too would appear on a search and lead you back to the guilty verdict.

Is it a violation of Ravi's privacy to not be able to remove what the courts have ruled as untrue? You can look at it as its a historically correct account or you can look at it as something that will haunt him for the rest of his life regardless.
