A Media Analysis Paper

Write a 3 page paper describing an ethical dilemma for a person working in your desired profession, depicted in at least two forms of media. For example, you might select a movie and a radio talk show to discuss ethical dilemmas of a psychologist. A news article and a short story might be used to discuss ethical dilemmas faced by a counselor. Or, a movie and a YouTube video might depict the ethical dilemmas of an attorney. You must have TWO DIFFERENT FORMS OF MEDIA. You may NOT use two movies, two news articles, two blogs, etc.

Writing the Paper: Describe the ethically problematic situations in which the real or fictitious professional(s) are involved (remember, there are two situations - one from each of your forms of media). Answer the questions below using the Code of Ethics of your chosen profession:

1. What actions did the person take?

2. Were those actions within the profession's ethical standards?

3. What actions could the person have taken to remain within the profession's ethical standards?

3. How can and does the profession respond to ethical misconduct among its membership?

4. Choose 2 ethical theories we studied and explain how each theory would view the ethical dilemmas and the actions taken by the professional(s).
